Manchester United’s owners seem to have changed their tune ahead of the January transfer window as the Red Devils prepare to splash the cash on more recruits.

Elsewhere, the Red Devils are targeting a French forward, while one of their midfielders is being targeted for a surprise move to Paris. Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of Old Trafford…
Board ‘approve’ January signing
Ten Hag has been handed a huge boost in adding to his squad in January following reports that United’s board has given the green light to sign Lyon right-back Malo Gusto next month.
The Dutchman is looking to add to his options in that area of the pitch in order to provide extra competition for Diogo Dalot, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka only being handed his first start of the season against Burnley on Wednesday.
According to French outlet Media Foot, United are ‘more and more preparing’ a move for Gusto and the board have ‘approved an amount nearing €30m (£26.4m)’ in order to convince Lyon to sell the 19-year-old next month.

United reignite Dembele interest
Another of Lyon’s players who is also on United’s radar is former Celtic striker Moussa Demebele, with the Red Devils set to reignite their interest in the Frenchman.
United were linked with a move for the 26-year-old during the summer as they sought to replace Edinson Cavani. In the winter window, they could make moves for the striker once more as a result of the latter’s departure last month.
According to Foot Mercato, Lyon are ready to cash in on Dembele in January before his deal expires in the summer and United are said to already be showing an interest in acquiring his services.
PSG eye shock Fred swoop
Ligue 1 giants PSG have been linked with a shock move for United midfielder Fred in 2023.
The Brazilian played an important role for the Red Devils last season but has seen his game time reduced this campaign following the arrivals of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.
As a result of his reduced involvement, The Sun has reported that PSG are eyeing a move for the Brazilian star, despite his recent contract extension at Old Trafford, until the summer of 2024. United are said to value Fred at around £30million.
