Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney reacts to 'brilliant' Nottingham Forest transfer

Wayne Rooney Forest Nottingham Forest Lewis OBrien DC United EPL Manchester United United States

DC United boss Wayne Rooney has hailed Lewis O'Brien as a "great bit of business" after the midfielder signed on loan from Nottingham Forest.

The 24-year-old was left out of Steve Cooper's Premier League squad after a proposed deadline day loan move to Blackburn Rovers fell through and thus has not played since the defeat to Manchester United at the City Ground in the EFL Cup semi-finals.

With the transfer window closed O'Brien was left in limbo after Rovers' appeal to the EFL to sanction the deal after the fact was denied. But with Major League Soccer clubs still able to do business in the transfer market he has found an escape route.
