Manchester United have looked to a familiar source to oversee their next stage in the ongoing ownership movement.
The Glazer family, much like Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are now looking into possible new investment or a sale of the club after 17-years, making it the fourth major Premier League side to be in that position in the last 12 months.
Newcastle were put up for sale by Mike Ashley and had a prolonged changeover to the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), Chelsea were then listed by Roman Abramovich in March following UK sanctions on the Russian oligarch. Liverpool's owners announced their own intention to entertain new shareholders last month and the Red Devils have followed suit.

The Glazer family have come under increasing pressure across the last five years after millions of pounds of transfer spending but a lack of relative improvement on the pitch. Cristiano Ronaldo also gave a damning verdict on the way the club has moved on since he left in 2009 in his recent interview with Piers Morgan, before mutually terminating his contract with the club.
For Chelsea, their ownership takeover was complicated due to sanctions on owner Abramovich, but from start to finish it took just three months when a normal period would be at least double that. Overseeing the deal was American bank Raine Group.
CBS reporter Ben Jacobs writes that the investment banking firm will be financial advisors for Manchester United after seeing the amount of interest that Chelsea gained. There are similar reasons for Liverpool's own move. Both clubs' owners are believed to have been considering their positions but have been swayed by the major interest in Chelsea's takeover by Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital.
