Manchester United returned to domestic duties against Burnley this week and will be hoping for no fresh injury concerns as a result of their Carabao Cup clash.
The Red Devils are due to take on Nottingham Forest on Tuesday in what will be their first Premier League game back after the World Cup and Erik ten Hag will be praying for no major setbacks within his first team squad as they go in search of three points.
Here is all you need to know about the current state of play at Old Trafford and the expected return dates for those out on the sidelines.
Diogo Dalot
First-choice right back Diogo Dalot remains Man United’s biggest injury concern ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Nottingham Forest after missing out against Burnley in midweek.
The Portuguese defender had picked up a hamstring injury whilst on World Cup duty with his nation, having been forced off the pitch during the 1-0 defeat to Morocco in the quarter-finals on December 10.
Dalot then returned to United’s Carrington training base last Friday (December 16) but sat out of this week’s training session ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Burnley, before missing the tie with the Clarets altogether.

Harry Maguire
England stalwart and United centre back Harry Maguire was a surprise omission from the matchday squad to face Burnley on Wednesday after being tipped to start in the absence of World Cup finalists Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
But it was revealed after the game that the defender was struggling with illness. The severity is currently unknown but it is hoped that he will have recovered in time to slot in alongside Victor Lindelof in the heart of the back four to face Nottingham Forest on December 27.
Speaking on Wednesday, Ten Hag said: "Harry is sick, and I do not know how that will develop. We have to wait and see if he will be available for Nottingham Forest [on Tuesday]."
Axel Tuanzebe
Forgotten man Axel Tuanzebe remains in the treatment room as he steps up his recovery from a long-term back issue that he sustained over the summer.
The defender, who has not played for the Reds since the 2021 Europa League final, while his last taste of action came almost 12 months ago when he started for Napoli in their Coppa Italia tie with Fiorentina on January 13, is now slowly building his way back up to fitness.
The 25-year-old missed out on the mid-season training camp in Spain earlier this month with the rest of the squad in order to continue his specialised recovery programme at Carrington, where he is now back on the grass in individual training.
