It's Good Friday, and as tradition goes, many people will be enjoying a hot cross bun or two today to mark the occasion.
Some people will eat them as they are, while others might slice them open and toast them before slathering on butter and allowing it to melt.
However, there will always be some who have a more unique approach to eating the fruity buns, which have a cross on the top.
For instance, GAIL's Bakery has recently shared a suggestion on their social media to use their buns to make french toast bacon sandwiches and while this was met with curiosity, one man's admission that he eats his in a rather different way has not been taken so well.
In a post on Reddit, the unnamed man shared how he likes to top his hot cross bun halves with peanut butter and butter on one side and jam and cream on the other.
He uploaded a snap of his foodie creation, writing alongside it: "My partner thinks it's wrong to put peanut butter and jam and cream on hot cross buns, but I can't be the only one who enjoys these combos?"
Dozens of people responded to his post, with many sharing their disgust over his choice of toppings.
One person branded it "sick" while another proclaimed it to be a "crime against humanity".
Someone else wrote: "Whaaaaadddd in the name of all that is good and holy did you do to that poor b***dy hottcrossbunnnnnn!!!!!"
Another felt very strongly about the matter, harshly proclaiming: "I hope you are banned from the UK."
Several Americans also waded into the debate, claiming they loved peanut butter and jam together, but not the way this person had done it.
"American here. I was going to say this looks like something an American would eat... until I saw butter underneath the peanut butter," the user said.
However, not everyone saw an issue with this, as a fellow foodie said: "I do a small amount of peanut butter sometimes! Occasionally a touch of honey. I feel like the slight salty nuttiness works well with the spices."
While a different Reddit user was intrigued, adding: "Peanut butter is a new one on me but I'm intrigued, that's on Saturday morning's to-do list."
