Man rushed to hospital following 'disturbance' involving blade in Edinburgh

A man has been rushed to hospital following a 'disturbance' involving a blade in Edinburgh this evening, sparking an emergency response.

Mercy crews, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, swooped on Parkgrove Road in the Clermiston area of the capital after the alarm was raised around 7.45pm.

Upon arrival, officers found a 32-year-old man injured in the street. He was rushed to hospital to receive treatment, however the extent of his injuries. It is understood a bladed weapon was involved in the incident.

Photos taken at the scene show a number of cop cars parked in the area while uniformed officers stand guard nearby. The road has been cordoned off with police tape and plain clothes officers can be seen making enquiries.

It is understood that the event was 'isolated', and that there is no threat to the wider public.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Saturday, 28 August, 2022, officers were called to a report of a disturbance on Parkgrove Road in Edinburgh.

“A 32-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he remains. “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
