A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Piccadilly Gardens. A cordon was put in place outside the McDonald's, Boots and Wing Stop at around 8pm on Monday night after emergency services rushed to the scene.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say they were called to reports of an assault near to the Boots store. The Manchester Evening News understands a man was stabbed in the incident.
A man was left injured but they are not thought to be life threatening injuries. A 26-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and wounding. They remain in custody for questioning, police say.

A GMP spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police were called to a report of an assault near to the Boots in Piccadilly Gardens at around 8pm on Monday 3 April 2023.
"The injuries sustained by the victim are believed not to be life-threatening and a 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and affray and remains in police custody of questioning."
