A man has been rushed to hospital after falling from a high window onto the pavement in Greenock.
Emergency services were called to the scene on West Blackhall Street at around 5pm today.
Paramedics have taken the man to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment, after wheeling him into the back of an ambulance on a stretcher. His condition is not currently known.
Local reports claim the man was climbing up a plastic drain pipe which snapped.
Police Scotland have confirmed they were called to the scene and investigation launched into the circumstances of the fall.
A statement from the force said: “Around 5pm on Friday, August 5, 2022, police attended a report of a man having fallen from a window in West Blackhall Street, Greenock.
“He has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
