A man was rushed to hospital with 'major trauma-related injuries' after a three-car crash on the M56.
The smash - which involved a Mercedes A Class, a blue McLaren and a white van - happened near junction nine for the Lymm Interchange just before 7am this morning (Monday), CheshireLive reports. Two lanes were shut off on the eastbound carriageway for several hours after the incident.
Cheshire Police said the white Mercedes A Class collided with a barrier. The white van and blue McLaren then collided with the car.

A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said: "A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with major-trauma related injuries."
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "The driver of the Mercedes car, a man, was taken to Aintree Hospital with serious injuries.
"His condition is not believed to be life-threatening. Traffic was temporarily blocked while recovery took place."
Three fire engines - one from Warrington, one from Lymm and another from Wilmslow - attended the scene. A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two cars and a van were involved in a road traffic collision at junction 9 on the M56. One casualty was treated by firefighters until the ambulance arrived to transfer them to hospital."
