A man suffered a serious neck injury following an "unprovoked" attack.
At 1.50am on April 2, it was reported a man approached the victim, a 35-year-old man, and punched him once, knocking him to the floor. It is believed he had followed the man from Rubber Soul bar on Mathew Street to outside Hardy’s, on the corner of Mathew Street and Rainford Square, where the assault happened.
The victim was treated in hospital for a serious neck injury, and is now recovering at home. Merseyside Police issued CCTV images of a man they believe could assist the investigation.
