Man killed in horror car crash on M62 named

A man who was killed in a crash on the M62 has been named.

Liverpool Crown Court heard that Paul Loller, from Wirral, was driving on the motorway, near Warrington, when he was involved in a crash. The 61-year-old had been driving his Skoda when Shaun Tinsley crashed into him driving a Mercedes.

The crash took place at around 3.45am, on Saturday, April 29, on the motorway, near Warrington. Police immediately started to search for Tinsley, who left the scene of the crash.

Mr Loller, 61, was rushed to hospital but died of his injuries. Days later, Tinsley, 28, was arrested by police at a hotel in Mold, North Wales, on Friday, May 5.

The 28-year-old of Deysbrook Way, Liverpool, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, with failing to stop following a collision, failing to report a collision and driving without insurance. After pleading guilty at Liverpool Crown Court, today Tinsley will be sentenced.
