Man in 'life-threatening' condition after being hit by a bus near East Croydon station

A man is in hospital with “life-threatening” injuries after being hit by a bus in Croydon.

The man, aged in his 30s, was hit near East Croydon station at around 1.10pm on Saturday.

Police closed George Street in both directions, while investigating what happened.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called to George Street, Croydon, at 13.09hrs on Saturday, 5 October, to reports of a collision between a bus and a pedestrian.

“Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service.

“A man in his 30s was found injured. He has been taken to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.”
