Losing your hair is no easy reality to come to terms with for any young or aging man, but for many it's simply part of life.
However, there are many tactics employed as a means of mitigating or hiding a receding hairline, such as donning a wig, boasting a combover or getting a hair transplant.
One individual was so distraught by a thinned-out hairline he opted for the perfect remedy, which was to get a fringe tattoed on – and the outcome had viewers in stitches, The Mirror reported.

Gianluca, 26, from Italy, walked into his local tattoo parlour, putting forward the bizzare request, much to the amusement of tattoo artist Maria Gina Altobelli.
The Italian, who owns and works at Gipsy.g Tattoo & Piercing in Fondi, took to recording the process of tattooing Gianluca's head with an inked-up fringe.
The video shows the artist with a stencil in hand adding the black fringe onto Gianluca's forehead.
After adding the fake fringe, he first sees himself in the mirror, and breaks down into tears and viewers are unsure whether it's from happiness or not.
Maria was happy with her own work, which took 60 minutes in total to finish. Images of the finished tattoo can be seen here.
Maria stated: "Obviously, I was skeptical when he asked me for that tattoo, but in the end, I'm very happy with the work. It took us an hour to do it because I've been tattooing for six years now, so I'm very fast."
The video gained immediate popularity on TikTok, with viewers left in stitches by the bizarre tactic to cover up balding.
One person said: "I hope this is a joke!" while another added: "I didn't trust the process and I was right."
A third said in jest: "He's crying because he knew he had made a horrible mistake."
Another noted the "instant regret" marked out on his face. "He's going home to google laser tattoo removals," someone else said.
Meanwhile, the tattoo artist wrote: "I didn't expect all this virality of the video."
