Man found dead at Travelodge in Glenrothes as police probe 'unexplained' death

A man has been found dead at a Travelodge in Glenrothes.

Emergency services raced to the hotel on Bankhead road after receiving reports that a man had passed away on the premises on Wednesday morning.

Police said the death was being treated as unexplained as an investigation was launched.

It is understood police were called to the scene, with forensic and ambulance crews also in attendance.

Officers later confirmed they were not treating the death as suspicious.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “Around 10.20am on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, police received a report of the sudden death of a 42-year-old man in Bankhead, Glenrothes. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
