Man fighting for life after being found seriously injured on Glasgow street

A man is currently fighting for his life after being found seriously injured on a Glasgow street.

Police rushed to the scene on Hathaway Lane in the Maryhill area of the city at around 5.50pm on Sunday, March, 20.

The 41-year-old was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital via ambulance.

He is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Uniformed officers and plain-clothed detectives have been seen in the area the following morning.

Numbered markers placed throughout the lane have also been pictured.

Two police vans have also been parked at the entrance of the cordon line as Police Scotland continue to investigate the incident.

Detective Sergeant Nick Gribben, of Maryhill CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the incident and how this man came to be injured.

“I would urge anyone who may have assisted the man to come forward.

“If you may have seen or heard a disturbance within the flats or the surrounding area then please get in touch."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident no. 2766 of Sunday, March 20.
