Man crashed on M1 before driving for miles with missing wheel

  • Omar Makhluf, 20, has been sentenced after driving on the M1 motorway with a missing wheel following a collision with a central reservation.
  • The incident, captured by motorway cameras, occurred on 16 February 2025, on the northbound carriageway between junctions 12 and 14, with Makhluf continuing for several miles.
  • Makhluf pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs at Aylesbury Crown Court.
  • He received a total sentence of 22 months and was disqualified from driving for four years and 336 days.
  • Thames Valley Police emphasised the potential for serious consequences and urged drivers to report vehicle damage on motorways safely.
