Australian attacker Daniel Arzani has signed for A-League side Macarthur FC after enduring a disappointing four-year spell as a Manchester City player.
When City signed the then 19-year-old attacker from fellow City Football Group club Melbourne City, they were bringing in arguably the most exciting young talent in Australian football. The teenager had enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2017/18, one that ended with him becoming the youngest player to represent Australia at the World Cup when he travelled to Russia in 2018.
City immediately sent Arzani on a two-year loan to Celtic, but he ruptured his ACL on his debut for the Scottish giants. Since then the 23-year-old has been unable to rediscover the spark that excited City, despite a series of loan spells at the likes of Utrecht, Aarhus and Lommel.

Arzani has now agreed to join A-League side Macarthur FC, based in South Western Sydney, on a free transfer from City.
However, that isn't the end of Arzani's Manchester connection. His new side are managed by former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke, who took up the role earlier this month. His new teammates include former Bolton Wanderers and Cardiff City winger Craig Noone and former Watford defender Adrian Mariappa.
Upon his unveiling as a Macarthur player, Arzani said: "being a new club, it's exciting especially to be working under someone like Dwight Yorke and the rest of the staff here at the Bulls.
"I can't wait to be back on the pitch and to get the season started." Arzani leaves City having made no appearances in a sky blue shirt.
