Man City XI vs Nottingham Forest: Haaland latest, confirmed team news, predicted lineup for Premier League

Decisions to be made: Pep Guardiola - (London Standard)

Manchester City will be hoping to have Erling Haaland back for their midweek encounter with Nottingham Forest.

The striker was a shock omission from Pep Guardiola’s matchday squad at Leeds last time out, with the City boss confirming pre-match that the Norwegian had been ruled out with a minor injury that he had picked up in training.

“Two days ago, in the last moments of training, there were some problems,” Gurdiola said. “A little injury.

“It’s not a big issue, but not ready for today.”

Haaland, the Premier League top goalscorer this term, was hardly missed at Elland Road, as Antoine Semenyo struck the winner to move - at least temporarily - to within two points of Arsenal at the top of the table.

Elsewhere on the injury front, long-term absentees Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic are definitely out, while there are concerns over Nico O’Reilly, who was forced off in Yorkshire.

Guardiola has not issued an update on the versatile academy graduate yet but is expected to ahead of kick off at the Etihad Stadium.

Otherwise, it is a full complement for the Catalan to pick from, with wingers Jeremy Doku and Savinho back from their own lay-offs to add extra depth on the flanks.

You would expect Ruben Dias and Marc Guehi to continue as the centre-back pairing, while Rayan Ait-Nouri impressed at Leeds last weekend.

Bernardo Silva played alongside Rodri in midfield on Saturday, with O’Reilly more advanced in support of Antoine Semenyo and Omar Marmoush.

Rayan Cherki came into the side in Haaland’s place, putting in a superb display in the No10 position.

Predicted Man City XI: (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Guehi, Ait-Nouri; Rodri, Silva; Semenyo, Cherki, Marmoush; Haaland

Doubts: Haaland, O’Reilly

Injured: Kovacic, Gvardiol

Venue: Etihad Stadium
