Man City XI vs Leeds: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League today

Man City starting XI - (London Standard)

Pep Guardiola has again rung the changes as Manchester City return to Premier League action against Leeds.

Man City were stunned in midweek by Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, with the Bundesliga side running out 2-0 victors at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola tinkered with his starting XI against Kasper Hjulmund’s side, making 10 changes to rest key players and allow those on the fringes to impress.

That experiment ultimately backfired, with City slumping to a first loss in Europe this season.

That result means it’s two defeats on the bounce for Guardiola’s side since the international break and they will be out to make amends against a vulnerable Leeds side this afternoon.

Gianluigi Donnarumma returns between the sticks, while Matheus Nunes and Nico O’Reilly the full-backs. Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol have been the go-to centre-back pairing.

Rodri remains sidelined with a hamstring issue, so Nico Gonzalez keeps his place in midfield once again, alongside Bernardo Silva.

Rayan Cherki was selected on the right flank in City’s win over Liverpool and defeat by Newcastle, but it is Tijjani Reijnders who gets the nod as Phil Foden goes into the front three alongside Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku.
