Man City willing to offer Ilkay Gundogan his contract 'wish' and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are now willing to offer Ilkay Gundogan his long-term contract 'wish', according to reports.

Gundogan's future at City has looked uncertain for some time, with the 32-year-old's current deal set to expire this summer. Talks have been ongoing for some time, although little progress raised concerns that the Blues could lose their club captain after a seven-year spell at the Etihad.

City were crowned Premier League champions for a third straight season last weekend, and Gundogan has been pivotal to the club's continued success. And now Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) report that he will be rewarded with the long-term contract he has been holding out for.

The report is centred around Barcelona's interest in the German, with his agent thought to have been in discussions over a move to Camp Nou. However, their push for what would be a brilliant free transfer has been dealt a major blow, with City willing to extend their offer, having previously only been willing to table a one-year extension.

Elsewhere, 90min report that West Ham United will not budge on their £100million-plus valuation of Declan Rice this summer.

Pep Guardiola's side are among several admirers of the 24-year-old, who looks set to leave the Hammers in search of Champions League football and major trophies having admitted envy in seeing his England teammates do similar.

West Ham know they face a huge task in keeping Rice beyond the summer, but know they are in the driving seat with regards to a sale as the midfielder has two years left on his contract. As such, they will not compromise on their valuation, which is said to be at least £100million.

Any move for the England international will see City battle the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Chelsea.
