Man City vs Tottenham: Prediction, kick-off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results, odds

Both Manchester City and Tottenham are looking to respond in a heavyweight Premier League showdown on Saturday.

The 2-1 defeat at Brighton before the international break condemned Pep Guardiola to a fourth consecutive defeat for the first time in his storied managerial career. While it would of course be foolish to write City off, they can ill-afford this slump to continue for much longer given the searing pace leaders Liverpool are setting in the title race thus far.

Still, reports suggesting Guardiola has agreed to extend his contract by at least another year offer a major boost.

Spurs, who knocked City out of the Carabao Cup with a 2-1 win at home last month, are also looking to get back on track.

Inconsistency remains a huge problem for Ange Postecoglou’s side, who lost 2-1 to newly promoted Ipswich before the international break. So frustrating is their form, Postecoglou shouldered the blame after the disappointing defeat to the Tractor Boys.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Manchester City vs Tottenham is scheduled for a 5.30pm GMT kick-off time on Saturday 23 November, 2024.

The Etihad Stadium in Manchester will host.

Man City vs Tottenham team news

City remain in the midst of an injury crisis. Phil Foden and Jack Grealish pulled out of the England squad over the break and will need to be assessed, while Ruben Dias and John Stones have been missing of late too.

Jeremy Doku, Matheus Nunes and Manuel Akanji all withdrew from their respective national squads too and Guardiola will no doubt provide an update later this week. Oscar Bobb and Rodri are long-term absentees.

For Spurs, much of the focus will be on Micky van de Ven as it remains to be seen if the Dutchman is over the hamstring injury that has forced him to miss the last two games.

There are also doubts about Cristian Romero following a knock sustained while away on international duty with Argentina, while Wilson Odobert is facing a lengthy spell out of action with a hamstring problem.

Spurs will also be without Rodrigo Bentancur after he was banned by the FA for seven League games for a racist remark against teammate Heung-min Son.

Man City vs Tottenham prediction

It’s difficult to know where either team will be after the break and, naturally, a lot depends on injuries.

Still, as poor as City have been of late, it’s almost impossible to imagine them losing for a fifth consecutive time.

Man City to win, 3-1.
