Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain paid tribute to Raheem Sterling as he completed his move to Chelsea.
The England international has been announced as the first statement signing under new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, with City getting a guaranteed £47.5m for a player that briefly became their longest-serving player following the departure of Fernandinho. Sterling arrived from Liverpool in 2015 and won four Premier League title, five league cups and an FA Cup during an incredibly successful time under Pep Guardiola.
Sterling, 27, has joined a Premier League rival in Chelsea as he aims to play a more integral part in West London than he expected to next season at the Etihad. But his contribution to City's success will not be forgotten, and Begiristain led the tributes as he let the player know he is welcome back any time.
