Manchester City are reportedly eyeing up a move for Atletico Madrid's Renan Lodi.
The Premier League champions are set to announce the signing of 21-year-old Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht, but he may not be the last new arrival in the left-back department.
City are still on the hunt for a senior left-back to fill a void in the squad and provide adequate competition for Joao Cancelo. A few names have been mentioned in the past, but there have yet to be any concrete links with the Blues' alternative to Marc Cucurella.

According to The Telegraph, Lodi is one of five names on City's current shortlist. The 24-year-old has been a key component in Diego Simeone's side recently, so any deal is seen as extremely difficult - especially this late in the transfer window.
The four other names on the shortlist include Stuttgart's Borna Sosa and Borussia Dortmund's Raphael Guerreiro, with the latter entering the final year of his contract. Looking a bit closer to home, Arsenal's Kieran Tierney and Wolves' Rayan Ait-Nouri are players City are said to have been monitoring very closely.
Elsewhere, talks are progressing between City and Marseille for Issa Kabore.
With the transfer deadline ticking ever closer, La Provence report (via GFNF ) that a loan move is on the table, but there has so far been no decision on whether to include a buy option or not.
Kabore is highly rated around the City academy and there was hope he could challenge Kyle Walker for a spot in the team, but that looks unlikely at present. Following the same path as various youth talents this summer, a permanent move - with a buyback clause - is another possible scenario.
