Josko Gvardiol has become one of the most sought-after defenders in the world following his run to the World Cup semi-finals with Croatia.
French news outlet Foot Mercato are reporting that Manchester City are set to compete with Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea for the 20-year-old's signature. Despite his struggles against Lionel Messi in Croatia's 3-0 semi-final defeat to Argentina, the RB Leipzig defender has announced himself during the tournament with his wide passing range as well as his defensive qualities.
Reports state that a bid of €100million (£85m) has been made for the Bundesliga defender. If City were to complete the deal, they'd be hoping Gvardiol could have an impact similar to the one made by Vincent Kompany when he moved from Germany at the age of 22.

Elsewhere, it is being reported by TEAMtalk that Arsenal are ready to negotiate a deal to make reported City target Bukayo Saka one of their highest earners.
City have been mooted as a possible destination for Saka as talks over a new contract continue to stall. However, the North London club are clearly keen to tie down their star man.
A new deal could see his wages increased to match the likes of Gabriel Jesus, with the report stating that they could be willing to offer as much as £260,000-a-week.
