Man City given Erling Haaland injury worry for Arsenal fixture

Erling Haaland had to leave the pitch injured at half-time for Manchester City in their Premier League match against Aston Villa on Sunday with an apparent injury ahead of a huge match with Arsenal on Wednesday.

The Norwegian looked sharp during the first half for City, producing an assist for Ilkay Gundogan, but also received treatment for an apparent knock to his right leg. He played on and looked sharp, but it emerged as the players came out for the second half that Haaland would play no further part in the match.

The apparent thigh injury will be a cause for concern, with City facing a crucial fixture against Arsenal. The hope will be that it is little more than a precautionary move, with such a massive match against Arsenal coming up and the 3-0 half-time lead looking comfortable.

World Cup winner Julian Alvarez came on as an able replacement, but there will be further updates after the match from Pep Guardiola.

Haaland has scored 25 goals this season for City and leads the Premier League scoring charts by a considerable distance and will be key should City begin to reel in Arsenal's lead at the top of the table starting with the visit to the Emirates.
