Man City fail with first bid to sign England star Elliot Anderson

  • Manchester City's initial offer for England international Elliot Anderson has been rejected by Nottingham Forest.
  • Nottingham Forest are understood to value the 23-year-old England midfielder at a minimum of £100 million, with Anderson still having three years remaining on his contract at the City Ground.
  • City are actively seeking a replacement for their departing captain, Bernardo Silva, which has prompted their pursuit of Anderson.
  • Anderson, a former Newcastle player, has also attracted interest from Manchester United, although City have been considered the favourites to sign him.
  • The high valuation for Anderson aligns with recent Premier League trends, where other midfielders have commanded nine-figure transfer fees, such as Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice.
