Man City 'clause' adds further wrinkle to Jack Harrison's Leeds United deadline day fate

Manchester City would reporteldy benefit from a sell-on clause in Jack Harrison's Leeds United contract should the winger depart Elland Road on deadline day.

Leicester City have been heavily linked with a move for the Leeds star as they look to bolster their squad ahead of Tuesday's 11pm deadline. It is thought that Leicester had a £20million bid for Harrison rejected earlier in the window but are still keen on pursuing a deal for the attacking midfielder.

Reports from Italy are suggesting that Leeds are looking at a loan move for Roma's Nicolo Zaniolo in what could be a replacement for Harrison should the deal go through. With time running out, Leeds may well be holding out for what they see as a fitting valuation for the 26-year-old.

According to the Mirror, Man City included a clause in Harrison's deal that would see them receive 20 per cent of any profit made on a sale by Leeds. With the Whites paying a reported fee of £11million back in 2018 - so for example, should Leicester pay £35m for the former City man - Pep Guardiola's side would be set to receive £4.8m from the deal.

Based on the above, Leeds will have to keep the 20 per cent sell on clause in mind should they look to negotiate with Brendan Rodgers' side over a deal for Harrison. With Leicester being direct rivals with the Whites in the Premier League this season, supporters were sceptical over rumours linking Harrison with a move to the King Power Stadium.
