Trei Daley, 26, who died after being stabbed near to the Colour Factory nightclub
(Picture: PA Media)A man has been charged with murder after a 26-year-old was fatally stabbed near an east London nightclub.
Trei Daley, from Bromley, was knifed near Colour Factory in Queen’s Yard, Hackney Wick, in the early hours of Saturday.
Scotland Yard on Tuesday confirmed Christopher Appiah-Blay, 35, of Wick Road in Hackney, has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
He was being kept in custody and was due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Police were called around 4.30am on Saturday, after Mr Daley and another man arrived at an east London hospital with stab injuries.
Despite the efforts of medics, Mr Daley died in hospital. His family has been informed, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place in due course.
The second man, aged 24, was discharged from hospital later on Saturday.
Speaking on Monday, Det Ch Insp Jim Eastwood of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Trei’s family. Our specialist officers will support them in any way they can following their terrible loss.”
He added that the area where the stabbing took place was “busy” and urged anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward.
He said: “Were you there? Did you witness some sort of fight or confrontation? Did you see or hear anything suspicious?
“Officers have already spoken with a number of people who were in the area, and I am grateful for their assistance. But there will be others who saw or heard something, and I need those people to come forward and speak with detectives.”
