A man has been charged with allegedly kidnapping a woman after forcing her off a train in the Hunter this week.
Police were called to a home on Windermere Avenue at Woodberry about 3am on Tuesday after a concern-for-welfare report in relation to a woman.
Officers allegedly found a man and woman - both aged 18 years old - underneath the house.
Police allege the woman, who was known to the man, was being held against her will after the man allegedly forced her from a train at Beresfield station on Monday afternoon.
It is alleged the man smashed the woman's phone after they arrived at the Woodberry property.
He was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday and charged with contravening a prohibition/restriction in an AVO (DV), destroying or damaging property (DV), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), intentionally choking a person with recklessness (DV), taking and detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage while causing actual bodily harm (DV) and resisting an officer in the execution of duty.
The man was refused bail by police.
