Man charged with attempted murder after Toxteth shooting

An 18 year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following the shooting of a 15 year-old girl in Toxteth.

Police and paramedics were called to Upper Warwick Street, at around 5.10pm on Tuesday, March 1, after it was reported multiple shots were fired.

The 15-year-old was rushed to hospital in a "critical" condition, however police have now said she is now in a "stable condition."

Rio Jones, of Jermyn Street, Toxteth, has been charged with attempted murder x 2, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a controlled drug.

Jones was remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton and St Helens adult remand court today, Saturday March 5.

The 15 year-old girl remains in hospital in a stable condition.
