Man charged over 'heckling Prince Andrew' on Royal Mile during Queen's funeral procession

A 22-year-old man has been charged for allegedly heckling Prince Andrew

A MAN who allegedly shouted abuse at Prince Andrew as he marched behind the Queen’s coffin as it made its way up the Royal Mile has been charged by police.

The 22-year-old was filmed on Monday being pulled out of a crowd by two men after he was said to be heckling the Earl of Inverness over his friendship with the late paedophile Jeffery Epstein and the financier’s one-time girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.

He was arrested following the incident and police have now confirmed he has now been charged with a breach of the peace.

Police will report him to the procurator fiscal and he is expected to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a breach of the peace on the Royal Mile around 2.50pm on Monday, September 12, 2022.

"He was released on an undertaking to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
