A young man was left feeling exasperated after his family expected him to pay a restaurant bill - for 17 people.
After graduating from university and securing himself a well-paid job, the man says his family on his mum's side invited him out to celebrate - only to spring the bill on his at the end of the evening. The upmarket restaurant they had chosen meant the tab came to more than one thousand pounds.
He claims he was prepared to offer to pay for his elderly grandad, but the 23-year-old hadn't realised he would be expected to fork out for everyone. This realisation finally dawned on him when he asked for separate bills, after which his family looked at him as though he was "a thief," reports the Mirror.
