A man was assaulted in a cricket club car park leaving him bleeding from the head.
Merseyside Police has launched an investigation into a suspected assault in Sutton, St Helens, after a man was assaulted by another man in the car park of Sutton Cricket Club on New Street. Officers received reports of a man with a head injury in the car park around 12.20am on Monday, May 9.
Emergency services rushed to the cricket club where they found evidence of blood on the ground but were unable to locate the injured man. CCTV and witness enquiries by officers so far suggest a man was assaulted in the car park.

Police are following reports that the suspect made off on foot and the victim was taken away in a grey Volvo car. Enquiries remain ongoing to locate the victim and suspect including checks of local hospitals. Detectives have now also issued CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to.
Detective Inspector Barbara Hebden said: “This appears to have been a shocking assault and we are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident through CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries.
“We think the men pictured may hold vital information so I would encourage them, or anyone who recognises them, to come forward as soon as possible.
“Similarly if you were in the Sutton area in the early hours of this morning and saw anything or anyone suspicious then please let us know. All information you hold could be vital to our enquiries. Whether you let us know directly, or anonymously, through Crimestoppers, please come forward and we will take action.”
