Man battered as he sat in works van on Morrisons car park

A man was subjected to a vicious attack as he sat in his work van. The incident was on a supermarket car park.

The victim was sitting in the vehicle at Morrisons in Chester Road in Ellesmere Port when he was punched "multiple times" through the window causing facial injuries. Police were alerted at 3pm on Monday June 26th to the attack.

Paramedics attended and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged. A 32-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

PC Ryan Evans of the Area Investigation Team said: “This was a serious attack and our enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing. We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information which may aid enquiries to come forward. You can report information online via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101, quoting IML 1582260.”
