Man attacked victim with metal bar outside New Basford pub

A man from Hucknall has been jailed for more than five years after a metal bar attack outside a pub. Anthony Christie attacked a fellow drinker in the street with a metal bar, leaving the victim with severe injuries.

The 46 year old, who is jailed for five years and nine months, swung a tyre jack handle several times at the victim leaving him with broken ribs. A final blow at the victims head left the man with serious facial injuries.

Nottingham Crown Court heard of Christie of Sherwood Street, Hucknall had been drinking in the same pub with the victim. He launched the attack close to the junction of Radford Road and North Gate, New Basford at around 5.30pm on January 10 2022.
