A man was taken to hospital after being assaulted by a knife-wielding robber in Dublin city centre,
The victim was walking down Abbey Street Lower on Thursday evening when he was approached by a man who demanded money. The suspect assaulted the man and stole cash from him before fleeing the scene on foot.
The victim was taken to Mater Hospital where he was treated for his injuries which are understood to be non-life threatening. A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on Abbey Street Lower a short while after the incident.
He is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in Dublin. A garda spokeswoman said investigations are ongoing.
