On Monday in Milwaukee, a man was arrested near the Fiserv Forum, the site of the Republican National Convention, for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The individual, identified as Donnell Tinsley, was also wearing a ski mask and had a backpack containing rifle ammunition, a mask from the movie 'Scream,' and two cans of spray paint, among other items.
Law enforcement officers patrolling outside the convention observed Tinsley wearing black pants, a tan sweatshirt, black gloves, and a ski mask while carrying a large tactical backpack. The arrest occurred amidst heightened security due to the recent appearance of former President Donald Trump at the RNC following an assassination attempt at a campaign rally.
Special agents discovered an AK-47 pistol concealed in Tinsley's backpack during a search. It was revealed that Tinsley did not possess a concealed carry permit in Wisconsin or any other state. Additionally, the backpack contained a fully loaded magazine with rifle ammunition, gloves, sunglasses, a security uniform shirt, and other miscellaneous items.
Tinsley is currently facing a misdemeanor charge and could potentially serve up to nine months in prison along with a $10,000 fine. He underwent a competency examination and is awaiting the doctor's report due on August 6. Allied Universal Security confirmed that Tinsley was a former employee but was not working for them at the time of the incident.
According to Allied Universal Security spokesperson Kari Garcia, Tinsley passed a pre-hire background screening before his employment with the company. Garcia emphasized that Tinsley's alleged behavior does not align with the values of Allied Universal Security and does not represent the dedication of their employees to community safety.
