The man arrested in connection with an attack on a young woman at Moore Abbey Wood in Monasterevin, Co Kildare last weekend has been released, gardaí have confirmed to the Irish Mirror.
A man in his 20s had been arrested in connection with the serious assault on a woman in her 20s which occurred in the popular walking spot in Monasterevin on Sunday, July 17, 2022.
The man was detained at Kildare Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 but in a statement today, gardaí said: "The man arrested in connection with this incident has since been released. A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions."

However, gardaí have said "investigations into this incident are ongoing."
Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the Monasterevin area on Sunday between 1pm and 5.20pm and who may have footage, including dash-cam, to make that footage available to them.
"Gardaí would particularly like to speak with two women who assisted the injured party," they said.
