A man has been arrested after a car smashed into a bus and police car in Manchester city centre.

The incident happened on Piccadilly, near the Chez Mal Brasserie & Bar, at around 9.45am this morning (Wednesday). Officers said a car collided with a police vehicle at the scene.

A Stagecoach bus was also left damaged in the crash. The driver of the car tried to flee the scene but was arrested by officers.
