A man has been arrested following a car chase in Bristol involving the police helicopter. Avon and Somerset Police officers pursued the driver in a suspected stolen Vauxhall Corsa in the Knowle area of the city.
Officers were first called out at around 2.20pm today (November 14) when the car was spotted driving along Throgmorton Road. A chase began with the National Police Air Service helicopter helping officers on the ground.
Eventually, the driver abandoned the vehicle with a person seen running through gardens. He was arrested by officers on suspicion of stealing a motor vehicle.

A statement from the force said: "A man is in custody after being arrested in Bristol on suspicion of stealing a motor vehicle. At approximately 2.20pm today (Monday, November 14), officers sighted a suspected stolen vehicle being driven in Throgmorton Road in Knowle.
"Officers pursued the Vauxhall Corsa, with support from the National Police Air Service helicopter, and the vehicle was subsequently abandoned a short distance away. A person was seen making off on foot through private gardens, but he was soon detained by officers. He remains in custody and enquiries continue.
