A man was arrested after a crash left a pedestrian in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Cheshire Constabulary was called to the junction of Chester Road and Slutchers Lane, Warrington, at 1.50am today following reports of a crash involving a grey Volvo XC60 and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 27-year-old local man, was rushed to Aintree Hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car, a 32-year-old man from Runcorn, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have captured dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
