Man appears in court charged with attempted murder after alleged 'stabbing' at Scots flats

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an alleged knife attack at a block of flats in Wishaw.

Emergency serviced were called to Pentland Road in the Wishawhill area of the Lanarkshire town in the early hours of Wednesday, October 12. Two men, both aged 31, were found injured by police.

Both men were taken to hospital, and one man was transferred to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride. Medics have described his condition as serious.

Police Scotland confirmed a 31-year-old man had been charged in relation to the incident.

Craig McCulloch appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court today, where he made no plea.

McCulloch, of Wishaw, was also charged with assault to severe injury and danger of life. He was remanded in custody with the case committed for further examination by prosecutors.

He is expected back in the dock within the next eight days.
