A woman has left people horrified after revealing that her husband eats nearly six kilos of cheese a week, with a whole block of cheddar going into the sandwiches that she makes for him every day. Mark King has eaten two whole 400g packs of mature cheese every day for the past 25 years, while also scoffing gut-busting portions of toast, bacon and sausages covered in mayonnaise right before bed.
His wife Tracey has stunned viewers on TikTok with her confession, having posted clips of the enormous meals she makes for Mark online. An 'evening snack' of a round of cheese sandwiches containing a whole pack of cheddar and condiments including marmite, mustard and even seafood spread will be wolfed down by Mark just hours after having a big dinner.
Tracey's videos documenting her life with the self-anointed 'Cheese King' have racked up hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok, with users left baffled by Mark's extraordinary appetite for cheese as well as his surprisingly athletic figure. One viral video shows Tracey making Mark's "perfect sandwich", as she slices up a whole block of cheddar. She explains: "Every single night for the last 25 years, this is what I do him, thick cut cheese. Mark has had one of these packs of cheese every single night before he goes to bed.
"Anyone who knows us knows that I'm not lying here," she adds, as she admits that she couldn't stomach it herself. The sandwiches, she explains, contain "cheese as thick as you can get it, all over the bread", adding: "One with pate, the other one with marmite and then mayonnaise on both of them, smothered in pepper. One double, two double, and this is just half of them."
Another clip shows Mark eating another four rounds of cheese sandwiches at midnight, having "eaten like a pig all day" according to his wife. "What's up with you Mark?" she asks, as he carries on eating. "I tell you what, that would keep me up all night that cheese, oh I couldn't even put it in my mouth. That's a whole block of cheese again, every night, it's an addiction".
Mark's other midnight snacks include a whole pack of bacon, smothered in mayonnaise and the all-important cheese, described by one viewer on a video watched over four million times as "a heart attack on a plate". In case that wasn't enough, he also made himself "a little bit of bread and butter", stacking ten slices alongside the plate of bacon.
Tracey admits that Mark looks for cheese in "every shop they go into", with another recent clip showing him pleading with her to buy two 'family-size' packs of cheese in a supermarket, each weighing in at around 5kg and costing a whopping £20 each. But while she admits her husband "takes liberties" with his passion for cheese, she is not overly bothered, as she knows it "makes him happy".
TikTok users were quick to work out that the couple have likely spent nearly £30,000 on cheese over the last 25 years. While Tracey says she's "not big on it," Mark has put away over seven tonnes of cheese in that time, consuming over 20,000 calories a week from the dairy product alone, which is the same as nearly 10 Domino's pizzas.
Despite this, Mark has kept a remarkably slim figure, with Tracey confirming in one video that her husband has had a "full health check" and his "arteries are clear". In the same video, she makes him a celebratory lunch, serving up two entire blocks of cheese between white bread, with a pot of marinated tomatoes and mozzarella on the side.
Grandad Mark's bizarre appetite has left viewers baffled, with many questioning how his extreme diet hasn't seriously damaged his health or even proved fatal. Others have been horrified by the size of the portions, while others simply couldn't believe what they were seeing.
"I absolutely refuse to believe this is real," said one, while another wrote: "It's amazing he's made it 25 years," adding: "He's definitely playing Russian roulette with his cholesterol levels." A third said: "With that amount of cheese before bed, Mark must be battling Freddy Krueger himself," with another viewer remarking: "Mark's going to have kidney stones the size of an iceberg."
However, others saw the lighter side, encouraging Mark and Tracey to do whatever makes them happy. "Eat what you like," said one. "Life is too short". Another added: "Don't ever stop being you Mark," while a third confessed: "If my stomach could handle that amount of cheese, I would eat that much too."
