A man has died after a tragic crash involving a car and a bus on the A77 near Girvan.
Emergency services raced to the horror smash on the stretch of road between Girvan and Turnberry around 10.30pm last night.
Police have confirmed this morning that the 58-year-old male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed overnight in both directions with motorists diverted via Dailly.
It reopened this morning around 6am.
Officers say a probe is continuing into the crash.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a crash between a car and a bus on the A77 near Girvan at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, 13 July, 2022.
“Emergency services attended and the 58-year-old car driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
