Man, 23, found with stab wounds in Leeds street

A 23-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Woodhouse, Leeds, last night.

On Wednesday at around 11.10pm, West Yorkshire Police were called to Woodhouse Lane and Clarendon Road where they found a man with stab wounds. The victim was rushed to hospital in an ambulance with serious injuries.

On Thursday morning (September 1), WYP officers were spotted by eyewitnesses outside a takeaway near Raglan Road around 7.30am. Police tape was used to block off the area.

The man had been stabbed in Moorfield Street nearby, leading to a second police scene with forensic police officers gathering evidence until 9am this morning (Thursday, September 9).

One eyewitness said: "It was happening behind the takeaway."

A spokesperson for WYP confirmed the details of the incident, and said: "At 11.10pm yesterday, police were contacted by the ambulance service who were attending the junction of Woodhouse Lane and Clarendon Road in Leeds where a man had been found with stab wounds.

"The victim, a 23-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were serious but not considered life threatening. The scene of the assault was identified in nearby Moorfield Street and underwent forensic examination before being released at about 9am."

Detectives from Leeds District CID are carrying out enquiries into the incident.
