A 21-YEAR-OLD has been left in hospital and two men have been arrested following an incident at a shopping centre in Renfrewshire.
Emergency services were called to the King’s Inch Road area of Renfrew around 5.45pm on Friday following a report of a disturbance involving several people at a premises in Braehead shopping centre.
A 21-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital although his current condition remains unknown.
A spokesperson for Braehead Shopping Centre confirmed that a member of the public required “urgent medical attention” following the disturbance.
Police Scotland subsequently confirmed that two men, aged 18 and 22, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
They are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday April 11.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.45pm on Friday April 7, 2023, officers were called to a business premises in the King’s Inch Road area of Renfrew following a report of a disturbance involving several people.
“A 21-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance. Two men, aged 18 and 22, have been arrested and charged in connection with serious assault and are due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday April 11 2023.
“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
A spokesperson for the Braehead Shopping Centre said: “We can confirm that an incident occurred at the centre on Friday afternoon which resulted in a member of the public requiring urgent medical attention.”
