New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani unveiled a broad initiative Tuesday to tackle hate crimes against Jewish residents and counter antisemitism, seeking to ease anxieties among detractors who view his persistent condemnation of Israel as anti-Jewish bias.
Under the proposal, synagogues will receive additional protection funds, public school curricula will place greater emphasis on Jewish history, and municipal leadership promises to consistently showcase key Jewish religious and cultural landmarks across the city.
