Malo Gusto has revealed that he was in talks with Chelsea 'for some time' before completing his move from Lyon at the 'last minute'. The 19-year-old is on loan at the French outfit until the end of the season after signing for the Blues in the final days of the January transfer window.
It's said that the the west Londoners paid around £26million, including add-ons, for Gusto. Graham Potter's side would have significantly benefitted from welcoming the French youth international to Stamford Bridge last month with Reece James' injury history in mind.
But, Chelsea will have to wait until the summer. In the meantime, Gusto has expressed his delight at penning a deal with the Blues; he's shed light on how an agreement was reached, how Todd Boehly persuaded him to join while also sending a promise.
