Smirking Malik Tillman has admitted Glasgow is "not the same" as Munich as he weighs up a permanent transfer to Rangers this summer.
The 20-year-old returned to Bayern Munich early after his season came to an abrupt end through injury, but was back in Scotland to scoop the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award after offering a rare positive for Michael Beale and the Ibrox fans during a trophyless campaign. The USA international has already rated his chances of return to the Scottish Premiership as 50/50 with Rangers holding a £5million option to buy in his contract.
The playmaker is set to hold talks with Beale this week as he weighs up his decision - but has dropped a hint that he may not be completely won over by Glasgow as a city as he contrasted the west of Scotland with Bavaria. Speaking to PFA Scotland after scooping the top award, he was asked what his opinion is on his temporary home.
The grinning midfielder replied: "I would say it's alright. Obviously I came from Munich, and Munich is quite a big city in Germany.
"It's also quite nice. So it's not the same as Munich but it's still on a good level."
The city could play a major factor in the decision of the young midfielder on where he sees his future, and while the location may have not have won Tillman over, if the fans play any factor he appears to already be won over.
On the supporters, he said: "In general, they are just amazing. I think they are one of the best I have ever seen and that I have every experienced. I just love them."
