Major Irish shopping centres no longer accepting their own gift cards

Gift cards will no longer be able to be used in a number of Irish shopping centres after the payment company that provides the service had its licence revoked.

UAB PayrNet, the company that manages the gift cards, had its licence taken by Lithuanian regulators following allegations of financial law violations - meaning that shopping centres can no longer issue or accept their own brand of gift card.

Multiple shopping centres around the country have been affected by this, including Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in Dublin and the Square Tallaght in Dublin and Mahon Point Shopping Centre in Cork, all of which will no longer accept or issue their gift cards.
